At the core of the rear hub is DT's Swiss-made 36-tooth SL ratchet. It offers a 10-degree engagement angle, providing quick engagement, minimal pedal kickback, and lasting reliability. The 30 mm internal width is ideal for 2.3 - 2.5 inch trail tyres, offering a stable platform without adding extra weight.

DT Swiss designs and manufactures rims in-house, using custom alloys and unique rim extrusions. This, along with their PHR system nipples, results in a strength and stiffness to weight ratio that surpasses standard alloy wheels. With a weight of 1756 grams for the 27.5" pair and 1848 grams for the 29" pair, the DT Swiss XM 1700  remains durable yet lightweight.

DT Swiss is one of the few manufacturers that produce hubs, rims, and spokes. The XM 1700's hubs and rims are crafted for DT's straight pull, butted Competition spokes, ensuring excellent ride quality. The 350 hubs are known for their durability and wide freehub compatibility.
